This week provides an excellent opportunity to shine a spotlight on a crucial issue which is often sidestepped: men’s health.

Graeme Souness, a former Liverpool, Rangers and Scotland player will swim the English Channel to raise money for the Debra charity which supports people with epidermolysis bullosa.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re focusing on how having a long-term health condition can impact your child’s mental health.

ME awareness week is from 8 to 14 May 2023.
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is an illness that affects countless individuals worldwide.
ME awareness week is a vital event that aims to raise awareness, promote understanding, and rally support for those affected.
Understanding ME
ME is a complex illness characterised by extreme fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive dysfunction, among other symptoms.
The condition can be disabling, impacting people of all ages and backgrounds.
Why is ME awareness week important?
ME awareness week serves as a platform for disseminating information, dispelling misconceptions, and promoting understanding of this life-altering invisible illness.
The week-long event encourages individuals, communities, and organisations to unite in solidarity with those who have ME, raise funds for research, and advocate for better healthcare provision.
We’re passionate about helping to build a community for individuals with ME and at Almond Care, we understand the importance of spreading awareness.
How to get involved
The ME association is encouraging people to get involved to raise awareness. We’re helping to spread the word.
Many will be supporting the week by wearing blue, a colour which is internationally recognised as a colour of ME awareness.
If you want to take part, the ME association are looking for people to share their personal stories or host an event such as a charity walk or a workshop.
Alternatively, you can donate to fund further research into the condition.
By raising awareness, advocating for improved healthcare, funding research, and building community support, we can help bring hope and change to those affected.
Let’s join together and make a difference.
