Brain Injury Care Provider

Client-specific training

We set out to provide a genuinely bespoke service to all our clients. As part of this commitment, we provide client-specific training to all our staff.

Meanwhile, every member of the team is trained, qualified and experienced in all clinical aspects of care. This includes the delivery of medicine, management of invasive and non-invasive ventilation and nutrition management

What does Almond Care training involve?

CQC Mandatory training

As you would expect, every member of the Almond Care team is trained to fully meet CQC standards.

What does this mean?

Training is a vital part of compliance within the care industry. The Care Quality Commission (CQC), which is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, sets out the standards of care expected.

These fundamental standards, which every client has the right to expect, include:

  • Person-centred care
  • Dignity and respect
  • Consent – before any care or treatment is given
  • Safety – and protection from harm or unsafe care
  • Safeguarding from abuse – including neglect or inappropriate limits on freedom
  • Enough to eat and drink
  • Premises and equipment – must be clean and used properly
  • Complaints – you must be able to complain if your care or treatment falls below expectations

In order to properly deliver care which meets CGC standards, care staff must receive mandatory CGC training.

It’s important to be aware that there is no single training requirement for the care industry. This is because there are a huge number of different roles within the sector.

However, most mandatory training in this care industry includes:

  • Nurse-led and under CQC guidelines
  • Health and safety – including fire safety
  • Moving people safely
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Safeguarding adults and children
  • Equality, diversity and human rights
  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Medication
  • Sepsis awareness
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
