1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Almond Care Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, in line with the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and PPN 06/21 requirements.

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint

Our baseline year is set as 2022/23, the first year in which complete and accurate data across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories was collated.

For the most recent reporting year (2024/25), Almond Care Limited’s GHG emissions were:

This total of 145 tCO2e represents a reduction of 20 tCO2e (12.1%) against the 2022/23 baseline of 165 tCO2e, and a further reduction from the 155 tCO2e reported for 2023/24. The 2024/25 reporting period (year ending 31 March 2025) falls within the 18-month window preceding the publication of this tender notice, in line with PPN 06/21 requirements.

4. Emission Reduction Targets

To track progress towards Net Zero, Almond Care Limited will adopt the following near- and medium-term targets:

• By 2025: Reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10% against baseline.
• By 2030: Reduce overall emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) by 30%.
• By 2035: Reduce overall emissions by 50%.
• By 2050: Achieve Net Zero emissions.

5. Carbon Reduction Projects

• Almond Care Limited has implemented, or plans to implement, the following projects:
• Energy efficiency: LED lighting, smart meters, and energy-efficient appliances.
• Renewable energy: Switch to renewable electricity supplier by 2026; explore solar PV.
• Transport: Transition to EV/hybrid vehicles, promote car sharing, remote working.
• Waste reduction: Expand recycling, reduce paper use.
• Procurement: Prioritise low-carbon suppliers and embed sustainability in purchasing.
• Training: Carbon literacy and sustainability awareness across the workforce.

6. Declaration and Governance

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of Almond Care Limited. Progress will be reviewed annually and reported in line with SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) requirements.

7. Methodology

Emissions have been calculated using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Standard and UK Government (DEFRA) GHG Conversion Factors. Data was drawn from energy bills, vehicle mileage logs, and expenditure records relevant to Scope 3 activities. All calculations are based on activity data multiplied by the appropriate emissions factors, in line with PPN 06/21 guidance.

8. Review and Updates

This Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed annually. Each review will update the emissions inventory, progress against targets, and actions implemented. The revised plan will be republished on the Almond Care Limited website each year, ensuring transparency and accountability in line with PPN 06/21 requirements.
